Community Spirit
---The town of Chatham responded when an accident last November forced Larry's PX to close for months. Over $166,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign that was matched by the Pals For Life Foundation, sales from Larry Beads and a fundraiser hosted by Knots Landing in early January. Donations from Chatham’s citizens, both year-round and seasonal, contributed to the three fundraising efforts. Checks were presented to the staff for a third round last week after WHDH interviewed the group for its news broadcast at Larry’s via Zoom. Pictured from left are Larry's staff members Casey McKella and Nicole Squires, Knots Landing’s Sophia Malita and Kellie Trombi, and Larry Beads creator Vangie Collins. AMY TAGLIAFERRI PHOTO

Valentines For Vets
--- Following a more than 20-year tradition, Chatham Girl Scouts recently made Valentines for veterans. Girl Scouts from Harwich and Brewster joined the Chatham troop at the scout hall to create the cards which go to local veterans as well as the Brockton and Providence VA medical centers and DV Farm in Gilson, N.H., which provides rehabilitation for homeless and addicted veterans. Pictured are the girls who participated. Anyone interested in joining Girl Scouts, either as a girl or as an adult volunteer, can contact Membership Recruitment Specialist Danielle Lopes of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts at dlopes@gsema.org or visit gsema.org for further information.
