WAREHAM – No matter what is asked of him, Ethan Beer is going to come through.

The senior from Brewster has been a mainstay in the Nauset baseball lineup, producing regardless of his place in the batting order. On Monday, Beer went 2 for 4 with a walk, an RBI double and a two-run triple to help the Warriors roll to a 13-1 mercy-rule win at Wareham.

“He’s just rock solid, no matter where you ask him to hit,” Nauset’s first-year coach Brett Labonte said. “Some games we have him in the leadoff spot when we want to get started. For the first 10-12 games, he was in the three hole hitting .360. It doesn’t matter the velocity or what a guy is throwing, Ethan’s just, ‘I’m taking him every time.’”

Beer’s 3 RBIs and three runs scored accounted for nearly half of Nauset’s runs on Monday. The senior said the key to his success this spring has been locking in before he steps to the plate.

“I’m just waiting on my pitch,” he said. “Before each at-bat, I think about what pitch I want and then sit on that. If I see it, I swing.”

The approach helped Nauset improve to 13-4 after extending its win streak to four straight games.

“It feels good getting big hits and helping the team win,” Beer said. “Obviously getting RBIs is nice.”
