Nancy Evelyn Rundquist

Nancy Evelyn Rundquist, a resident for over fifty years of Chatham, NJ and Kennebunk, Me., died in early December 2023 at the age of 90. Born in Waltham, Mass., Nancy graduated from Simmons College with honors and worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory soon after where she met her husband, Howard I. Rundquist, who pre-deceased her. A devoted, mother, she is survived by her five children, Sarah, Beth, Peter (Lisa Weilbacker), Susan (Patrick Palmer) and Rebecca (Killian King); and six grandchildren whom she adored, Spencer and Cory Rundquist, Emma, Eleanor and Patrick ‘Ryan’ Palmer and Evelyn King.

Nancy was well known for her inquisitive nature and passion for reading and lifelong learning. She had a deep love and respect for historic homes and antiques which led to many wonderful and successful years as an antiques dealer in her beloved state of Maine. She had a gift for creating beautiful homes for her family and loved nothing more than wholeheartedly presiding over holidays and large family gatherings with Howard. She had a ‘zest for life’ and will be remembered for her sharp wit, intensity and her love and loyalty to everyone she cherished in her life.

In addition to her husband, she is pre-deceased by her parents, Evelyn and Walter Hood and her dear sister Patricia Hood of Chatham, Mass.
