A Fun Day To Run: CES Students Take End-of-year Laps

No, those weren’t very young Cape Cod Baseball League players running around Veterans Field last Wednesday. The kids running laps were students from Chatham Elementary School participating in the annual end of the year Fun Run. Organized by the school’s PTO, the Fun Run is an opportunity for students to get some exercise in a fun activity that brings together the whole school. And there were winners! Topping the pre-K to grade one field were first graders Benjamin Hobek in first and Caroline Coffey in second; winners in the grades two to four category were fourth graders Kylen Ponko, first place, and Elianna Yates in second. Principal Jennifer Kelly extended her thanks to Jennifer Coffey and Rebecca Hobek of the PTO, the event sponsors and all the volunteers who helped make it a fun day for everyone.
