April 03, 2024

Bette Stever-Fahle of South Chatham, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on March 3, 2024 at Cape Cod Hospital with family by her side. She was the loving wife of John B. Fahle, who predeceased her passing in 2021.

Bette was born on February 7, 1042 at Cape Cod Hospital to the late John F. and Ruth (Walker) Stever. She met her husband in Hyannis, when they raised their family. While they loved most of their married life on Cape Cod, they both loved their time spent in Florida, where Better received her real estate license before settling in South Chatham. Bette was an avid reader and gardener. She had a great passion for animals too, and worked as a veterinarian assistant in Barnstable and was a 4H Club den mother. She took great pride in entering various animals in the Barnstable County Fair where they earned her many ribbons.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Bearse, Osterville and her sons Scott and his wife Kathleen, Dennis; Eric and his wife Victoria, Westford, MA.; John and his wife Carrie, South Chatham. She was a proud grandmother to Danielle, Madison, Betina and Emma as well a great-grandmother of five. She also leaves her nephew Howard (Buzzy) Bearse, Sarasota FL.

A private celebration of life will be held this summer with her family.
