Carol F. Harpoole

Carol F. Harpoole of South Chatham, MA died peacefully at age 99, on Saturday February 10, 2024, surrounded by the people she loved. Carol (Nana) was born and raised in Brockton, MA. She spent summers in Chatham throughout her life until finally settling down there in 1980.
Carol went to Green Mountain College in Vermont for secretarial school and Kathleen Dell Secretarial School in Boston, MA
She had one child, Peter Taylor Quidley, born in December of 1945.
She spent her professional career as a legal secretary and as a copy writer in Massachusetts and Florida. She was also a published writer in local newspapers and magazines as well as an author of a children’s book, The Secret of the Seven Cats, published in 2011.
In 1980 Carol finally settled down in South Chatham to be near her family whom she loved so much. Carol was an avid gardener and walker and loved to travel, write and read. She loved her crossword puzzle book, which she did daily right up to the end. Carol always took time to take her grandkids and great grandkids crabbing and fishing in nearby Taylor’s Pond. She lived her life to the fullest, most especially in her 80s, which she always referred to as the best decade of her life! Carol would always listen patiently to anyone who came to her seeking her advice, always imparting her thoughtful wisdom and positive attitude, accumulated over her long full life.
She will be dearly missed by her family.
