Carolyn L. Holmes

Carolyn L. “Carole” Holmes, 94, of Harwich peacefully departed this life at her home on October 6th, surrounded by family and her friend and caregiver Kathleen. Born in Brockton, MA, Carole moved to Harwich for her senior year in high school, and lived happily in the town for the rest of her long life.
   Soon after high school, she married Ronald “Ronnie” Holmes, raised four sons, and began a successful career in the restaurant business. She will be remembered by some as the longtime hostess of the former Cape Half House in West Harwich. Carole was an avid reader, and loved puzzles and wildlife (particularly birds). She will be remembered as a loving mother and devoted friend to so many.
Carole was predeceased by husband Ronnie and oldest son Wayne and is survived by her sons Bill, Alan (Sarah), and Phil (Eric); grandchildren Taylor, Lisa and Chris; and niece Sandy (Ralph).
There will be no public service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Harwich Conservation Trust (harwichconservationtrust.org) or charity of choice.
