Harwich Cranberry Festival Gets Underway Saturday

 HARWICH – The Harwich Cranberry Arts and Music Festival gets underway on Saturday, featuring activities and attractions through late afternoon on Sunday. This is the 50th anniversary of the festival, and there are some special treats this year, including a return of a carnival and a drone show on Saturday night.

The festival will get underway on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the field behind the community center on Oak Street. The festival crafts fair will include more than 150 juried vendors, food trucks, beer and wine, a carnival for kids, and a drone show at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.

The CranJam Music Festival will get underway at the tent at 11 a.m. on Saturday with seven bands throughout the afternoon with a focus on local music. Entrain closes out the evening at 7:30 p.m., allowing plenty of time for attendees to cross Oak Street to the Monomoy Regional High School field for the 8 p.m. drone show.

The CranJam music will start again at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at the tent with three additional bands running through 3 p.m. Beer and wine will be available on Saturday until 7 p.m. and on Sunday through 3 p.m. 

 The crafts fair is scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday and Sunday, but many of the crafters will remain open during the CranJam and while the amusement area for kids continues to operate into the evening on Saturday leading up to the drone show. The carnival will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Saturday, the food trucks will operate from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The festival is free, except food, drink and amusements. There is plenty of parking available.
