Second Annual Short But Sweet 5K Ran On Old Colony Rail Trail

CHATHAM – More than 70 runners took part in the second annual Short but Sweet 5K on the Old Colony Rail Trail on Saturday morning.
The charity fun run raised money for the Monomoy School District’s cross country and track and field programs. 
The course began on the trail right by Short ‘n’ Sweet Ice Cream and continued east, turning around at the airport, with an out-and-back spur by Volunteer Park, before returning to the main bike path onward to the finish line and awaiting scoops of ice cream.
Danny Grimmig, 25, finished first with a time of 19:40, followed by Rydyr Finlay (19:59), 16, Blaise Donoho (20:25), 16, and Sera Battuello (20:40), 15.
