John Peter Vario

John Peter Vario passed away suddenly on July 20, 2026, at the age of 70.  John Peter Vario was born on April 18, 1956, and was a resident of Chatham, Massachusetts.
J.P. was predeceased by his parents, Ralph Siley Vario and Elizabeth Bohrer Vario. He is survived by his sister, Victoria Vario Rowe of Valley Cottage, NY., and his companion Jennifer B. Metzler of Chatham.
   J.P. grew up and attended elementary and high school in Westchester County, NY. After high school J.P. attended Dean College in Franklin, MA and then the University of Wyoming in Laramie, WY.
After college, J.P. headed back east and soon made his way to the Cape. His love of the Cape and Chatham in particular started early in life with vacation trips with his mother and sister. J.P. soon settled in and made lifelong friends. He loved working on the cranberry bogs and in construction.
Most of all, he was happiest giving a helping hand to friends and neighbors whenever needed.
He will be dearly missed.
  His memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026  in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham, MA. His Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 5 to 8 pm at the Chatham Municipal Airport, 240 George Ryder Road, Chatham, MA.
