Monica Lynch Caplice
June 02, 2026
Monica Lynch Caplice was born to Jack and Eileen Lynch on May 4, 1955. She grew up in North Andover, Massachusetts, where she enjoyed a happy childhood playing with her sisters, getting into mischief with her brother, and putting on a song and dance for audiences big and small.
Cape Cod became her home after spending her college summers working for Wychmere Harbor Club and Thompson’s Clam Bar. These summers were some of the happiest of her life, during which she made lifelong friends and collected stories she would tell for years to come. After graduating from college, her summer job turned into a permanent position where she learned the bookkeeping skills that would become her career.
Monica married Stephen F Caplice in 1983. Together, they had two children, Jessica and Andrew, who grew up in Harwich. Monica loved cooking for her family and friends, hosting holidays, and planning 5-star weekends in Boston. She could rarely be out-talked, out-laughed, or outdone on the dance floor.
Always the life of the party with energy to spare, she was the New England Patriots’ biggest fan, an avid powerwalker, and WiiSports champion. She was a lifelong learner whose friends and family sought her advice on all subjects. She adored her Labradors and taking care of the birds in her yard. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her kids, siblings, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and two beloved grandchildren, Lucy and Shea.
In honor of her big, beautiful life, hug long and hard and laugh as loudly as you can.
A Celebration of Monica’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 4th, at Mooncusser’s Tavern, 86 Sisson Rd, Harwich Port. All are welcome to stop by for drinks and light fare from 12:00-3:00 PM.
