Lawren Frederick Cowen

Lawren Frederick Cowen passed away April 12th 2026 having reached his 97th birthday.
Lawren was a hard worker, having worked in construction, and as a supervisor at the Roland Nickerson youth forestry camp, a rehabilitation camp for delinquent boys. Lawren was an outstanding Mentor for the young men, teaching them life skills to take into the world leading to productive lives.
Lawren is survived by his daughter Dianne E Cowen, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his niece Sandra Hall Tubman, Who provided loving nursing care to him for the last few years, as well as his niece Lannie Stewart and her husband Ron, whom Lawren considered his ‘brother’. Ron called Lawren every day, a pleasure Lawren looked forward to.
Lawren was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Corinne Dahlberg Cowen and his daughter Virginia S (Cowen) King.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Brewster Lower Road cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send donations in honor of Lawren to the food pantry of Brewster Baptist church, 1848 Main Street Brewster, Massachusetts 02631.
The family would also like to thank the fabulous staff at the Victorian assisted living home and Liberty Commons in Chatham for excellent care provided to Lawren.
