Library Site Work Begins Monday; Parking Lot To Close

by Staff Reports

CHATHAM -- Long-awaited work to improve safety and accessibility at the Eldredge Public Library is set to begin on Monday.

Officials announced that the first phase of work will focus on the rear of the property, including reconfiguring the parking lot and upgrading the surrounding area with new sidewalks.

To accommodate construction, the parking lot behind the Library on Library Lane will be unavailable starting April 27. Library officials expect the parking lot to reopen in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Town officials remind the public that parking on Library Lane is limited; the nearest public lot is across the street at the town offices.

During construction, the book drop will be temporarily relocated to the side entrance, and both the front and side entrances will remain accessible throughout this phase of the project.
