Desnee Bassett, 74, and Father Corey Bassett Tirrell, 44, both born and raised in Chatham, passed away on September 11, 2025, and October 31, 2024.
Though they left this world at different moments, their lives were deeply intertwined in love, family, great humor and shared memories. Their passing has brought sorrow to all who knew them.
A joint memorial service honoring their lives will be held on Saturday May 2, 2026, at 11a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 569 Main Street in Chatham. A reception will follow. Family and friends are warmly invited. Internment ceremony will be held for
Desnee Bassett, Donna Bassett and Corey Bassett Tirrell at Peoples Cemetery, 200 Stepping Stones Road in Chatham following reception.
