EAST HARWICH – Residents and visitors who frequent the East Harwich Stop & Shop will notice significant changes to the store’s layout, along with an expanded selection of products, following a major remodel.
The grocery store held a grand reopening on Friday after completing a seven-month remodeling that, according to a press release, focused on improving customer experience and convenience.
During the reopening ceremony, Stop & Shop store manager David Hardiman also underscored the store’s commitment to the local community by making two donations.
The Monomoy Regional High School SHORE Pantry received a $10,000 gift card from the store to expand its offerings. The pantry is a student-run initiative helping to combat local food insecurity. It is operated through the Students Have Opportunities for Recreation and Employment (SHORE) program, which offers students experience in inventory management, customer service and community service.
A second donation of $5,000 in gift cards was made to The Family Pantry of Cape Cod, which has been a partner of the store for over 30 years, according to Hardiman.
“We’re proud to have the grand reopening today,” said Hardiman. “It’s been a lot of work. We started back in September, so it’s been quite a few months of work here. I want to thank our team members, my people have worked long hours getting ready for this and as you can see, the store looks beautiful today as a result of their hard work.”
