Paula Mary Domonkos of Brewster, MA passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the age of 88. Paula was born to Joseph and Mary (Horton) Harwood on July 30, 1937 in the Bronx, NY.

Paula is predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph Ronald Domonkos.
Paula graduated from Academy of Mt. St. Ursuline in the Bronx, NY with highest honors. She married in the Bronx and raised her family in Astoria, NY, Connecticut, Maryland and New Jersey. Her roots were in Taunton, MA and she spent girlhood vacations on the beaches of Cape Cod. As young parents, she and husband Ronnie brought their children to the Cape. The family’s love of Cape Cod brought three of the children to homes in Brewster, and after losing her husband, Paula spent the last five years of her life in Brewster. One of the highlights of her year was “girls weekend” on the Cape, which she shared with her daughters and later her granddaughters for over twenty years. Her clam chowder recipe, which she learned from her father, is legendary in the family.
Paula was an avid reader and amazing home Jeopardy player. She loved doing the New York Times crossword and having a cold martini before dinner. She was a devoted stay-at-home mother for her five children. Her grandchildren particularly loved her keen sense of humor and sharp wit. She loved playing Trivial Pursuit and everyone wanted to be on her team because of her vast store of knowledge and competitive spirit. She hated losing to her husband! She loved her dogs Malcolm, Lucky and Sparky.
Paula will have a private family funeral and be laid to rest with her husband in Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paula’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – www.stjude.org
