Frank Perry, Jr

 Frank Perry, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on February 18th at 84 years years old  with his family by his side.
He was born in Fairhaven, Ma. to Mary Souza Perry and Frank Perry, Sr. on May 2, 1941.  He graduated from Fairhaven High School, class of 1959.
   He entered the Mass. Maritime Academy after graduation, but left and joined the Army as he wanted to study meteorology.   
   He was stationed at the U.S.Army Signal Corps, Meteorological Team Yuma, Arizona.  From there he went briefly to Fort Devens Ma., and was transferred to the Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratories (CRREL), in Hanover, NH.  It was in Hanover where he met his wife, Carol Halladay Perry, who was working as a dental hygienist in Hanover.  They married on February 29 in 1964 and celebrated just shy of 62 years of marriage this year.  From there they moved to BroadBrook, Conn. where Frank worked for the Travelers Research Center in Hartford, Conn. in their meteorological dept.   In 1971 Frank had the opportunity to move to NOAA’s Chatham Weather Station on Morris Island.  When the station moved, Frank formed a small company,Cape Cod Weather Assoc. Inc. to keep the radiosonde balloon launching business and weather information going. 
He has 2 children, Heather Lynn Perry Schlerf ( husband Chris) from Keene, NH,   Todd Halladay Perry, Harwich, Ma.    3 grandchildren, two grandsons ,Nick and Gavin Schlerf, and  a granddaughter, Halladay Rose Perry..   He loved his grandchildren and taught them a lot about the ocean and the weather.    He also has a brother, Thomas Perry in Georgia and a brother William who is deceased. 
He was a member of the Harwich Council on Aging in 1973 and was chairman in 1979-1980.
He was an active runner and ran the Falmouth Road Race 20 times. 
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer.
