Barbara Emily Jepsen

January 28, 2026

Barbara Emily Jepsen, age 95, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026. She was born at home on January 19, 1931 in Woodridge, NJ.  Barbara lived a full and adventurous life, including years spent in Turkey and Germany as a military wife and mother, before returning to Cape Cod, where the family had put down roots. She retired to Florida for a decade, but moved back to the Cape to be near family.
Barbara married Edwin Jepsen in October, 1952 and raised 5 children: Christopher Jepsen (married to Mary), Aleta Crowley, Donna Jepsen-Minyard (married to Don), Faye Wingard (married to Tom) and George Jepsen (married to Karen).  She was grandmother to seven grandchildren: Amanda Jepsen Vargas, Stephanie Jepsen, Derin Crowley, Justine Crowley, Avery Jepsen-Minyard, Max Wingard, Hunter and Sienna Jepsen and two great grandchildren: Chloe Vargas and Aries Crowley-Guerrero.
She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Aleta, and by her brother, Emile Meyer Jr., who she always knew as “Bud.”
She worked in various jobs including as a full-time mom, a realtor and a seamstress.
Barbara celebrated life: her family, friends, and animals. She was especially known for her love of cats (even the “rotten” ones). She had a ready and infectious laugh, an appreciation of beauty and a can-do spirit. Barbara will be missed by many.
A gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at a later date on the Cape. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal rescue league.
