BREWSTER – The Brewster Book Store is making one last pitch to help support its holiday book drive, which ends Dec. 21.
This season, the bookstore is collecting new books to help deliver a robust supply of reading material to the Lower Cape Outreach Council’s (LCOC) Santa Shop. New books purchased in the store or brought in will be added to a pile that will be delivered to the Santa Shop for clients in need to be given as gifts.
The LCOC hosts the Santa Shop annually to help support local families in need with a selection of holiday gifts.
The bookstore is hoping to get a wide variety of books, fit for adults, kids and everyone in between. Patrons of the shop will find a box of pre-selected books next to the checkout desk that they can choose from at the time of checkout, or they can browse and shop for a different book around. Books purchased for the book drive receive a 20 percent discount.
The bookstore will also accept books from other sellers, as long as they are new.
Each book purchased for the book drive will earn customers a raffle ticket for the store’s 2025 holiday raffle.
The bookstore is also currently hosting another book drive to support Dennis-Yarmouth Elementary School first graders. They are collecting donations for the Nauset Interfaith MLK Jr. Action Team, which is sponsoring a community book drive to purchase picture books that highlight underrepresented cultures and heritages. The drive will run through Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 19.
For more information, call the bookstore at 508-896-6543 or visit the shop.
