Beware: Little Monsters To Take Over Brewster This Halloween
BREWSTER – The Brewster Ladies’ Library is once again hosting its annual Halloween parade, which will feature four “trick-or-treating” spots and live music just for kids.
The event, taking place on Halloween day (Friday, Oct. 31), will start at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium of the library.
Donning their costumes, kids and other participants will take a stroll down Route 6A to the Brewster General Store where special guest Paul Kehoe will perform classic songs with a holiday-themed twist.
Kehoe is a local musician and elementary school teacher who has worked at Stony Brook Elementary and Cannon Hill Academy. Over the last few years, Kehoe has worked with Mary Wilson to develop a kid-friendly puppet show. The duo regularly performs shows at the Cape Rep Theatre.
After Kehoe’s set, the parade will continue on to the First Parish Church where kids will stop to greet members of the congregation. The parade will carry on down Route 6A to Uncle Pete’s Chowder House.
The parade will then cross the street and stop at the Brewster Baptist Church, the formal conclusion to the parade route. Each stop will have treats for the marchers.
Following the final stop, kids and their families will head back to the library to safely return home.
An officer from the Brewster Police Department will be accompanying the parade route to direct traffic and make sure trick-or-treaters march safely.
Participation in the event is free and no registration is required. For more information, visit the calendar of events option on the library’s website at brewsterladieslibrary.org.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
