Lisa Ellis Harding

September 24, 2025

Lisa Ellis Harding passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2025, at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton, Massachusetts, following a short yet brave battle with melanoma.
Lisa was born on November 7th, 1964, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Edmund Charles Harding (1936-1986) and Joan Marilyn (née Rayner) Charette (1935-2021).  Lisa was a graduate of Chatham High School, class of 1982, where she excelled at softball.
Lisa moved to Easthampton, Massachusetts, in 1992 to work with her mother’s second husband, Norman Charette, at his company, Mount Tom Wood Products. Shortly after, she began working with Bob Thompson at Deerfield Woodworking, where she quickly became his “right-hand woman,” managing both the factory and retail store. She was also the long-time treasurer of her HOA. Lisa was currently employed as a facilities manager at a local housing complex.
Lisa is a descendant of four Mayflower families. She is survived by her sister, Cynthia Harding Thompson, and her husband, Robert, of Harwich; six nieces and nephews; her loving Australian Shepherd, Miley; and her cat, Emmy.  Lisa was predeceased by her parents and her brother Mark Edmund Harding (1960-2014).  She will be sadly missed by her family, close friends Bob & Kathy, Mo, Sharon, & Steve, as well as her many friends & neighbors, with whom she frequently chatted on her daily walks with Miley.
A private family memorial will be held at Seaside Cemetery in Chatham at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, Lisa’s family has suggested a donation to one of the following organizations: the Melanoma Research Foundation, the American Melanoma Foundation, or your local animal shelter or animal rescue league.
