Kyle L Chirgwin
September 24, 2025
Kyle L Chirgwin, 60, of Yarmouthport, MA, beloved son of Jane and Lee Chirgwin, brother of Keith Chirgwin, and widower of Lisa C Chirgwin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2025 at home. Kyle had been in poor health and much pain for many years.
Prior to becoming disabled, Kyle was a character larger than life. He had an obsession with trucks since before he could walk. Tonka trucks, Matchbox trucks, you name the truck, Kyle had it. This led to him founding Kyle’s Towing and Transport in Fairfield, CT. He was known as “the Mayor” for his outgoing personality with the police, fire, and EMTs he frequently interacted with.
Kyle needed to shutter his towing business as his health failed. He moved to Cape Cod to be near his parents. His mind remained active and he became a disc jockey on WOMR in Provincetown, doing this for 12 years under the moniker “ Special K.” He had listeners literally around the world.
Kyle also created a children’s book series, “Captain Recovery” which, no surprise, was based on tow truck experiences. Kyle was writing book. #3 when he passed.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Kyle was a big animal lover, and donations in Kyle’s memory to either the Sampson Fund or Animal Rescue League of Boston would be greatly appreciated. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com
