Minding Your Business- Power Yoga of Cape Cod

Grounding. A family. A home. A community. A sacred space. An anchor. My lifeline.
Those are just a few testimonials students and members have used to express the love they have for Power Yoga of Cape Cod (PYCC) on Auston Road in Harwich.
PYCC owner Jill Abraham opened the studio back in 2009 after living in New York City and Cambridge.
“I started yoga in 1999 right out of college,” Abraham said. “It’s when I took my first yoga class, and I immediately started training and teaching soon after.”
PYCC offers classes and workshops for all levels of yoga all week long. There are four to five classes every day, both in the morning and evening. These include heated all-level Vinyasa, power Vinyasa, gentle Hatha flow and more. The heated classes boost circulation and detoxification and are very popular.
Teacher training and new class development are happening all the time in the studio. There are also ongoing events happening there. Up next is a therapeutic Sound Bath Meditation event on Sept. 13 (sign up online on their website).
“We have something for everyone,” Abraham said. “We have intro workshops, gentle classes, all-level classes and power yoga. Our new fall schedule starts on Sept. 2 and we will also be offering a 200-hour teacher training in January.”
One member, Mike, describes PYCC best: “Having never practiced any form of yoga before, I attended the Intro to Power Vinyasa Workshop to learn more. The instructor was perfect that morning, helping me understand the benefits and poses. After only 90 minutes, I was hooked. The atmosphere at Power Yoga of Cape Cod is perfect and inclusive for newcomers and experienced folks alike.”
One new class Abraham is thrilled to offer this fall is Empower Flow, which will be held Monday through Friday each week from noon to 1 p.m.
“Empower Flow is a gentle power yoga class designed to build strength, balance, and vitality for all ages, body types, and experience levels,” Abraham said. “This welcoming class invites you to move with confidence, connect with your breath, and honor your body’s wisdom. Move at your own pace with plenty of modifications and leave feeling grounded, uplifted and more connected to yourself.”
There are 17 teachers and instructors involved with PYCC, many of whom have been on board with them for ages.
“It is really an incredible team,” Abraham said. “They are all very special and unique teachers, all very dedicated. They each offer an amazing experience and we guarantee that you will have an awesome class. If you don’t, just let us know and we will refund you. That is a commitment we all have. I want people to feel great after they leave here.”
Class cards, membership levels and drop-in classes are all offered at PYCC, and rates and more info can be found on their website (a 20 percent off discount is available for seniors). There is even an option to purchase livestreamed classes.
Reach out to Jill and the crew at Power Yoga of Cape Cod and try a class for yourself. PYCC is so much more than just an exercise studio. It’s a place where all are welcome and you will leave with a renewed sense of self and peace.
