Donald Howard Clegg

Donald Howard Clegg, 97, of Chatham, MA, passed away peacefully on July 23. He lived a good long life enjoying the Chatham Men’s Club, Romeos (Retired Old Men Eating Out), Bowling, Bridge and playing with the Cape Cod Old Timers Softball League.
Donald grew up in Verona, N.J. and graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA, earning a BBA in Business Administration. After college he was drafted to serve in the Korean War. He served in Detroit Michigan keeping the books for the Army and attaining the rank of Sargent. While in college he met his future wife Marilen Albert. After serving in the army he and Marilen settled in Allendale and then Upper Saddle River, N.J. and had four children. Donald started his long career with Lederle Laboratories from which he retired in 1990 as a Regional Administrator.
Donald was a loving father who always put family first. He was a kind, gracious, and caring man who will be greatly missed by many people. He was predeceased by his loving wife Marilen and then his long time partner Gloria Patricia Bowen. He is survived by his children Carolyn Tanner (James) of Boxford, MA, Donald William (Shelly) of Sahuarita, AZ, Cynthia Dunn (Alan) of Cherry Valley, MA and Cecily Puccio (John) of Stony Point, NY. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
