Vincent Angelo Rescigno
November 29, 2024
Vincent Angelo Rescigno died on Nov. 12, 2024, at his home in East Harwich, MA surrounded by his family. Born in Yonkers, NY on Feb. 23, 1930, he was 94 years old.
A family man, Vincent married Patricia Mary McLaughlin on May 28, 1955, and they raised five children (Patricia, Mary Ellen, Joanne, Susan, and Michael) in Thornwood, NY. He worked for 35 years as an Engineer for New York Telephone Co. When he and Pat retired to Cape Cod, he then worked as a Starter at Ocean Edge Golf Resort.
Vinny was an avid sports fan and athlete, excelling at bowling, baseball, and golf. He loved talking about sports with his good friends Artie and Jay at his favorite coffee shop, Larry’s PX.
“Pop-Pop” was the proud grandfather of six (Chris and Sean Goddard, Donald Sanzo, Daniel Rosenthal, Kara Micheletti, and Francesca Rescigno) and great grandfather of two (Sammy and Vinny, Jr.), who he loved with all his heart.
A first-generation Italian American, he also loved eating good Italian food and watching cooking shows on TV. Family meals around the table are one of our cherished memories. He often raised his glass in a toast to “La Familia” before we all dug in. Here’s a final toast to a great man, husband, father, grandfather: We love you Pop-Pop, and we will miss you dearly!
