Athlete Of The Week: Gareth Vos

It’s an honor to represent your school in a state championship, especially when you are competing on behalf of your school as an individual student-athlete.

While the Monomoy boys soccer and field hockey teams competed in Division 4 state championships, senior Gareth Vos was Monomoy’s lone cross country competitor at Saturday’s Division 3 state final at Fort Devens.

The Marstons Mills resident finished in 66th place after completing the 3.1-mile course in 17:56.76, approximately 2:12 slower than state champion Timothy Rank of Littleton, who finished in 15:44.63.

In addition to earning Cape and Islands League Lighthouse Division All-Star honors, Vos is also the senior class vice president and is on Monomoy’s honor roll.
