Environmental calendar 

·        A Walk in the Hawksnest Woods with Commentary, Saturday, June 14 at 9:30 a.m.  The walk is free and open to the public, lasting one to two hours.  Join walk leader, Irwin Schorr, as he interprets the history, folklore, geology and botany of the six ponds area.  Sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust.  Call 508-432-3997. 

·        Guided Seal Trip, every Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. from June 17 to Sept. 2, and every Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from July 6 to Aug. 31.  Trips are 90 minutes in length.  Registration is required.  Mass Audubon has scheduled seal cruises since 1988 to observe, close up, hundreds of grey seals and some harbor seals.  Contact the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary at 508-349-2615 to register or for more information. 

·        Family Walk: Aquatic Creatures at HCT’s 60-Acre Bank Street Bogs, Saturday, June 21 at 9:30 a.m.  The walk is free and open to the public, lasting one to two hours.  Families with school age children will search the bogs with walk leader Jan Cormier.  Sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust.  Call 508-432-3997 

·        Botanical Walk: Grasses at the Bank Street Bogs Conservation Lands, Saturday June 28 at 9 a.m.  The walk is free and open to the public, lasting one to two hours.  Join botanist Robert Zaremba for a look at the many wild grasses in and around this conservation.  Sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust.  Call 508-432-3997. 

·        Nature Walk at the Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands, Wednesday July 2 at 9:30 a.m.  The walk is free and open to the public, lasting 1 to 2 hours.  Walk leader Mary J. Metzger will look for signs of midsummer in this upland and wetland area.  Sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust.  With questions call 508-432-3997. 

·        Botanical Walk at HCT’s 60-acre Bank Street Bogs, Saturday July 12 at 9 a.m.  The walk is free and open to the public, lasting one to two hours.  Rich Eldred will look for lilies, iris and other summer wildflowers.  Sponsored by the Harwich Conservation Trust.  Call 508-432-3997.
