Marie Judith McCluskey
On February 21, 2018 an angel gained her wings. Fly high “Little Peanut!”
Marie Judith McCluskey’s parents Sarah Swenson and Steven McCluskey were by her side when she passed as they have been every day of Marie’s courageous life. Marie was a special child with special needs, and special parents. She was a sassy, spunky fighter who was loved by many; many who never met Marie but read of her battle through the poignant, eloquent posts by her parents on social media. Sarah and Steven never gave up on their Little Peanut. Marie challenged the medical team at Boston Children’s Hospital, and her parents are very grateful to that team.
Marie is survived by her parents, her adoring grandparents Peter and Judy Swenson of Chatham, Joseph McCluskey of Harwich; her loving aunts and uncles, Matthew Swenson, Andrew Swenson and Jennifer and Josh Coffey, Joseph Jr. McCluskey, Mark McCluskey and Paul McCluskey. Plus the many families she left an indelible impression on at Boston Children’s Hospital and the caregivers both there and in her Harwich home.
She loved playing with her farm, Daddy’s story reading and Mommy singing her favorite songs; not necessarily in that order! From the day she was born on June 25, 2014, Marie beat the odds; she survived and often thrived during her years here on earth. When you think of her, think of a true fighter, a warrior.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main St. In lieu of flowers Sarah and Steve would like you to consider a donation to the Cape Cod Child Development Early Intervention, 83 Pearl St., Hyannis 02601.
