Carpenter Offered Monomoy Superintendency

CHATHAM --- Scott Carpenter of Sudbury, the current superintendent/principal of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, has been offered the job as the next superintendent of the Monomoy Regional School District.  He has accepted the position pending the successful negotiation of a contract.

Acknowledging that all four finalists were highly qualified, the school committee voted unanimously Wednesday evening to offer the job to Carpenter based on his strong advocacy for students, his fiscal acumen and his experience in school building projects.  Carpenter is a doctoral candidate at Northeastern University, and holds masters degrees in education and science education from Harvard, Boston University and Lehigh University.

Carpenter won high praise for his integrity, his commitment to life-long learning, and his district's strong educational performance, even at a time when multimillion dollar budget cuts were a necessity.
