“Have you ever wondered why two homes in your neighborhood will sell at different prices and/or why one takes longer to sell than the other?  It’s all about first impressions!” Trudi Doyle Burrows and Mary Ann Yarmosky told us. “Buyers make up their minds about a home within the first five minutes!”

The first step or “Stage One” to selling your home is making that positive first impression. The Cape Cod real estate market is currently inundated with beautiful homes in sought-after locations, and as realtors themselves Burrows and Yarmosky knew in order for a home to stand out it needed to be a standout. “And the best way for you to showcase your home is to hire a stager. The staging process gives the home seller an edge,” says Burrows.

“As successful realtors with an insight that comes with experience, we have learned to trust our sense of style and design. Over the past 11 years we have helped clients ‘stage’ and then sell their homes, by educating them and creating a series of great impressions throughout their property to attract buyers.”

How does staging work? “We work in steps. First is a consultation where the seller guides you through their property.  We like to take detailed notes and pictures then as we discuss the seller’s priorities and budget.”

The two have a portfolio of projects and photographs for a potential client to look over during this consultation stage. The next step is “to discuss with the seller what is needed to ‘prep’ your house for the selling process.  Our ideas will include what to de-clutter and re-design.  Mary Ann has a huge background in design.  We like to work with what’s available but if something needs to be added we can tell you what needs to be done.”  This could be as easy as a landscaping idea or maybe a quick coat of paint.

Stage One by Two has had a lot of proven success in staging homes.  Success means sales.  “Local realtors have called us back to use our services again because the houses sold right away.”   Though they encourage a seller to call before they officially list their home, “we can also help to move a home that’s been lingering on the market too long when you can’t figure out why.”

Their keen understanding of the Cape’s real estate market plus accreditation as Staging Professionals and Organizing Consultants along with Yarmosky’s background in marketing and design make Stage One by Two a dynamic duo. “We have been staging our own listings as a service to our clients who list their properties with us for years by either rearranging the furniture or shopping for new or gently used furnishings and accessories to enhance that first impression.”

“Let us help you cut though the fog of ‘what’s wrong?’ into the light of ‘I got it!’”
